These Rainbow Bee Eaters were seen on the banks of the Katherine River:
Our most intimate contact with our feathered friends came at Parry's Farm Lagoon when Bazza the tame Brolga joined us for a 4 kilometre bush walk; A gammy leg caused him to drop behind occasionally, but then we would hear the whoosh of wings as he came in for a landing right alongside us.
We saw lots of Corellas (a kind of White Cockatoo, without the sulphur crest) on our trip. This lot were roosting noisily in Windjana Gorge.
Further up the Gorge, the Royal Spoonbills were more sedate:

Some thirsty Zebra Finches at Port Smith:
This Spotted Harrier, which nests in a tree in the Hamelin Pool Caravan Park, seemed unperturbed by human proximity:
We spent a lot of time trying to photograph the plentiful but elusive Ringneck Parrots, the first picture below being our best effort, till we stayed at Moondyne Caravan Park in Toodyay and it became easy:
Two Bower Birds had been busy in the Bungle Bungles, with somewhat different results:

There were many more wonderful birds, including Wedge Tailed Eagles, but too elusive for our camera.
